Turbulence marked the Regency Period in England. The monarchy fought the peoples of the Peninsula and amongst themselves. The church wrestled with heresy as the worshipers warred with new methods of praise and fellowship.  Humanity struggled with the resentment of the classes, the rise of new industries, and the decline of tried and true trades. People battled with addiction, all manner of vice, and the need to discover their better angels.

All this and romance too. What's not to love.
